What I love about doing bodywork and skin care is creating and then holding the space for a highly relaxed state to occur where healing can more readily be accessed. This is why I have practiced massage for over 14 years and skin care for 8. I love what I do and I feel it is an honor for me to work with people in this capacity.
After getting my Bachelors in Health Science in 1990, I pursued training in massage and various aspects of bodywork. I owned my own business for 10 years in Alaska and have just recently moved to South Whidbey, where I am enjoying the work at Spa Essencia, right on the water.
My specialties are Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and pregnancy massage, plus skin care (facials, waxing, makeup). My other love is to teach moms and dads how to massage their new babies. There is nothing more rewarding to me than teaching a mom or dad how to lovingly touch and communicate with their child. I know in my heart the practice of infant massage changes the world for the better.
